About

Welcome to our website. We are Greg and Melanie Dugan and we hope you enjoy your time spent here. Let us tell you a little about ourselves and our site.

Greg is a full-time artist. He began his career many years ago in Southern California. He grew up in Huntington Beach and lived in Orange County most of his life. He went to Art Center College of Design and Art Institute of Southern California. He finished out his degree from Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design. He is a versatile artist with skills and knowledge in many media. He prefers watercolor with colored pencil, but he creates work in pen and ink, acrylic, and graphite often mixing them in a variety of ways. Greg is also an excellent teacher and gives many lessons in the community as well as in our studio here in Anacortes, Washington.

Melanie is making a transition from full-time work as a teacher in elementary school where she works to improve literacy in Spanish speaking students to work as a full-time artist and illustrator. She minored in Art at Brigham Young University and has been using art in many ways in her teaching career. She works in pencil and colored pencil and is trying her hand at watercolor pencils as well. She loves to draw animals and really enjoys her whimsical creations.

We share a wonderful studio near downtown Anacortes. It is spacious and light and is a wonderful place to work and teach. We invite the public into our space during many open studio days. We enjoy the feedback we get from others, and participating in the abundant art community here.

Please enjoy browsing our site. We have pages dedicated to each of our work. Be sure to visit our store as well as Melanie’s pet portrait commission page.
